In "The Daily Capital News" Jefferson City, Cole Co., Mo., Friday, Feb. 27, 1920 on page 6, is John's funeral notice. It says:" LePage funeral Saturday. The funeral of the late Judge John LePage will be held from the LePage residence on West Main St. Saturday afternoon. Burial will be made in Woodlawn Cemetery." In the same newspaper on page 1 Thursday, February 26, 1920, is John's obituary which says, "LePage funeral will probably be held Friday. Well-known citizen and former county judge died yesterday afternoon. Was 61 years old served in city council. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery--Widow and six children survive. Funeral arrangements had not been completed last night for John LePage, former, County Judge and one of the best known citizens of Cole County, who died at 3'oclock yesterday afternoon at the home of his late brother, Constance LePage, on West Main Street. It is probably that the funeral will be held some time tomorrow afternoon. Interment will be in Woodland Cemetery. Judge LePage had been ailing for more than a year. About a month ago he went to the office of his physician in the Trust building, where he became suddenly ill. He was taken to St. Mary's Hospital and underwent an operation. He was given every care and attention possible and he showed signs of improvement. Two weeks ago he was taken to the home of his late brother, but pneumonia developed which caused his death. Judge LePage was born in this city and would have been 61 years old in April. He served with distinction as a member of the County Court and prior to that was elected a member of the City Council from the fifth ward, a rock-ribbed Republican ward. LePage was a Democrat and took an active part in the councils of the party. He had warm supporters in both parties. For many years he was a plastering contractor and was instrumental in the development of some of the best buildings in the city and county. Several years ago he bought a farm on the Moreau, four miles east of the city, where he lived with his wife and six children, Henry, Angeline, Eugene, Juliet, Emeline, and Natalie."
