Was one of the first settlers of Benton County along with Brothers Edwin Spencer, Joseph Dean Spencer, and Charles Spencer.
Gave the land for the Church and Cemetery known as Spencer's Grove, situated on 2and 1/2 acres of Grove, with a wayside park.
His wife's Osborn family came to this area along with her sister's husband's family the Kennedy's. All settled around this Benton County Area.
His parents: Hon. William Spencer & Resign Martha (Nutting) Spencer lived in Corinth,Orange County, VT William Spencer's linage comes from the famous Four Spencer Brothers who came over the sea in the early 1630's.
