STUARTS DRAFT -- Mrs. Alma Ruth Atkins Cohron, 84, formerly of 129 Wayne Ave., Stuarts Draft, died Saturday (May 20) at 12:20 p.m. in a local nursing home.
She was born Jan. 26, 1905, in Augusta County, a daughter of the late Walter A. and Eliza Graves Atkins.
She was employed by the Stuarts Draft Elementary School for a number of years before retiring.
She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Cohron was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Leslie Cohron, who died in 1978.
She is survived by two sons, James L. Cohron of Stuarts Draft and Robert L. Cohron of Wichita, Kan.; one daughter, Mrs. William (Mary) Moore of Stuarts Draft; two sisters, Mrs. Nettie Kelley of Harriston and Mrs. Grace Zirkle of Baltimore, Md; six grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
A service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Henry Funeral Home chapel by Dr. Floyd J. Wingfield and the Rev. Morris E. Campbell.
Burial will be in Calvary United Methodist Church cemetery.
