Robert Lee Brooks, 67, of Brevard, died Friday, Sept 21, 2001 at his residence. He was a native of Transylvania County and a son of the late Lemuel and Clara Bryson Brooks. He was a veteran of the United States Army and was retired from Ecusta.
Survivors include his wife Dot Brooks of Brevard; two daughters, Deborah Lee Brooks of Brevard and Patti Brooks Madge and husband Randy of Charlotte; one sister, Flora Cauble of Brevard; two grandchildren, Paige Watkins of Chicago, Ill. And Josh Made of Charlotte.
Funeral services were held Monday at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Moody-Connolly Funeral Home. The Revs. Joe Leonard and Joe Hayes Jr. officiated.
Burial will follow in Pisgah Gardens, with military graveside rites, conducted by the Brevard VFW and Brevard American Legion.
The family received friends from 7 to 9 Sunday evening at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Red Cross, Asheville Area Chapter, "Disaster Relief", 100 Edgewood Rd. Asheville, N.C. 28804. Make checks payable to Disaster Relief.
