Lela Larimore, 101, of Grants Pass, Josephine Co., Oregon, died Thursday, Dec. 18, 2003, at Highland House Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was raised in Williams, Josephine Co., Oregon and attended a one-room schoolhouse there. As a child, she helped in her family's general store.
On Sept. 17, 1921, in Grants Pass, she married James Alfred Larimore, who died in 1985. They lived in Williams until the early 1940s, when they moved to Grants Pass. In 1954, they moved to Tri Cities, Wash., where the Larimores helped develop an 80-acre farm. She grew alfalfa for 17 years before moving to Pasco, Wash. Two years after her husband's death, she moved back to Grants Pass to be near family.
She enjoyed gardening, sewing, and reading. She also enjoyed family history.
Survivors include a daughter, Hazel Morgan, of Grants Pass; two brothers, Victor Sparlin and Jerry Sparlin, both of Grants Pass; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
