Wife of Marion Jackson Curington. Marion, Elizabeth and
children left their home in Rose Hill, Alabama during the mass exodus from Alabama to Texas in the 1870s so they actually moved to South Dakota from Lavaca County, Texas. Marion and Elizabeth left S.D. and were back in Alabama by 1900. Then, as you noted, by 1901, they were back in S.D.
After Elizabeth's death, Marion returned to Alabama, re-married in 1907, and remained there until his death in 1913.

A lot of researchers have had trouble w/this branch of family for many reasons, e.g. Cureton (orig. spelling) vs Curington In 1888 they moved to Buffalo Gap, Dakota Territory, coming in a covered wagon.
Elizabeth died of a heart attack and was first buried in the Wycoff Cemetery, but later moved to Philip. Marion moved back to Alabama and later remarried.
