In 1900, Horace, a farm laborer, aged 17, was living with a family in Andover working on a farm.
In 1903, on Sept 20th, when he married to Sarah in Wakefield, he was a laborer.
In 1910, Horace was a wagon driver and living in Stoneham, Mass.
In 1920, Horace was a house painter living in Melrose, Mass., on East Emerson street.
In 1930, again Horace was a house painter but living at Field Court in Melrose, Mass.
In 1940- aged 56, Horace is still listed as a house painter living on West Emerson street in Melrose, Mass., with his family.

Horace and Sarah lived with their youngest son and his family for a number of years before he died. In Dec. of 1958, Horace died at the Edna Drawn Nursing home in Malden Massachusetts. His wife Sarah, died at the Cornell Nursing home in Malden, Massachusetts in July 1966.

Horace's funeral services were held at the Ballantyne & Son Funeral Home in Melrose, Mass., on Dec. 11, 1958 at 2:00 p.m. The officiating Clergy was Rev. Robert Stadig.

Both Horace and Sarah are buried at Spring Grove Cemetery in Andover, Mass., on the Hatch family plot, Lot # 196.
