Robert J. McDowell, 74, of Syracuse, passed away Tuesday at his home. Born in Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan, he resided in Syracuse since the early 1960's. He retired as a vice president and senior investment officer with Marine Midland Bank. Air Force Veteran of the Korean War. He was a member and past president of the Central City Masonic Lodge. Also a member of the Camillus Rotary, Honorary Paul Harris Fellow. Member of Syracuse Skin Divers.
Survived by his wife of 47 years, Mae Mathews McDowell; one son, Scott (Jennifer) McDowell of Jamesville; one daughter, Cynthia (Anthony) Powers of Boston; two grandchildren, Matthew McDowell and Sophia Powers; one sister, Vera Barclay of Loves Park, IL; his stepmother, Agnes McDowell of Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan; his sister-in-law, Mona McDowell of Grant, Michigan; several nieces and nephews.
Private Memorial Service, 10 a.m. Friday at the Butler-Badman Funeral Home, Inc., 4505 W. Seneca Tnpk., Onondaga Hill.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Make-a-Wish Foundation.
