Funeral services for Mr. I.B. "Cotton" Martin, 77, of Allons, were conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, May 19, 2006, from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Anderson officiating.
Burial was in Fellowship Cemetery.
Mr. Martin died Wednesday, May 17 at his home. He was a dairy farmer, a veteran of the United States Navy, and of the Baptist faith.
Born June 7, 1928, in Clay County, he was the son of the late Joby and Ella (Hall) Martin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 4 brothers, Arvel Martin, T.V. Martin, T.R. Martin, and Elmer Martin; 3 sisters, Bernice Savage, Beatrice Hunter, and Clara Geesling; and a grandchild.
Survivors include his wife, Jewell (Medley) Martin of Allons; a son, Gary Martin of Allons; 3 daughters, Joan Borden and June Harvey, both of Allons, and Judy Forrester of Anderson, IN; a brother, M.J. Martin of Palatka, FL; a sister, Winnie Williams of Algood; 9 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and several nephews, nieces, and other family and friends.
Pallbearers were Brandon Martin, Adam Borden, Eric Vaughn, Doyle Colson, Jacob Harvey, and Gary Martin. Tracy Melton served as honorary pallbearer.
Special care provided by Livingston Funeral Home.
