OAKERY ELDON SEYMOUR ... Oakery Eldon Seymour, son of James Ervin and Mary H. Hughes Seymour, was born Aug. 21, 1893 in Mercer County, Mo. and died April 27, 1986 at the Decatur County Hospital, Leon, Iowa, age 92.
He was married to Dolly Maynard in 1917 and two children were born to this union: Dorothy Sinclair of Des Moines, Iowa and Verle Russel, who preceded him in death Nov. 27, 1970.
Oakery was married to Minnie Broughton Rains on Nov. 10, 1959 at Fulton, Mo. They made their home in Davis City, Iowa, Bethany, Mo., Garden Grove and Osceola, Iowa before moving to Leon 16 years ago. Minnie preceded him in death on Feb. 27, 1982; also his parents; an infant brother, Harley; and brother Orrin Seymour in 1976.
Survivors include 3 grandchildren; brother, Noah Seymour, Los Angeles, Ca.; other relatives and friends.
He became a member of the Davis City Church of Christ about 59 years ago.
