*"Rev. Seth Sawyer, son of Enoch and Eleanor (Horn) Sawyer, was born at Alton, N.H., in 1806. He was converted in 1831, and ordained in 1857. His labors have been mostly confined to supplying churches where they had no settled pastor. He has labored at Gilford Village, New Durham, Middleton, Wakefield, East Alton, and Alton. He baptized among his converts a granddaughter of Benjamin Randall. In 1830 he married E. A. Wiggin, and after her death, Sarah E. Stevens. His second wife dying, he made Lucy J. Tupper his wife. He has had two children.
His son died in 1855, after graduating from Dartmouth College, and having been a successful principal at Strafford Academy and at Pittsfield."
