Funeral services for Lewis Henry Armstrong 73, a retired farmer, was held Thursday afternoon at Dailey's Funeral Home, Port Byron, with Rev. Ulm officiating. Mr. Armstrong passed away Monday afternoon while watching his son, Donald, of Barstow plowing a field for him, east of Cordova on his small farm. He had been in poor health for some time.
He was born in Whiteside County on August 23, 1886, the son of Gabriel and Lucy Slininger Armstrong. He has resided at Cordova most of his life where he was a farmer. He married Charlotte Belle Smith of Cordova on May 12, 1913 at the Cordova Baptist Church. He was a member of the Cordova Baptist Church.
