James Monroe Holt, 69, passed away at his home near South Pittsburg, TN Thursday morning, March 25, following a lingering illness.
Funeral service was held from the Richard City, TN Baptist Church Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock with the Rev. C. L. Morris and Fred Phillips officiating.
Surviving are his wife and six sons, Charles, Tom and Virgil of Charleston, SC; Harrison of New England, GA; Albert and Frank, of South Pittsburg, TN; three daughters, Mrs. Flora Mae Holt Morris of Charleston, SC, Mrs. Elizabeth Holt Friel of Chattanooga, TN, Mrs. Beulah Holt Pelham of South Pittsburg, TN.
Interment in Glover Hill Cemetery with J. B. Rodgers & Company in charge. Active pallbearers were Marshall Nelson, Joe McCampbell, James Love, Louis Austin, Wilson Lawhorn, Sam Bruce; honorary, George Friel, John Holder, T. M. Allison and Charley Westmoreland.
