Olaf Pearson was born in Harrod, Sweden to Hans Pearson and Hannah Anderson. He came to Millville at the age of ten. He attended Millville School to learn English, but he never forgot his native tongue. He loved to tease; and his teacher, Katie Pehrson, once hung him on the coat rack by his overalls until he promised to be good. He served his country for two years during World War I.

On October 27, 1920, he married Edeline J. Schenk, the daughter of Jacob and Annie Marie Rindlisbacher Schenk of Providence.

Edeline was a fine cook and enjoyed her role as homemaker. She made lovely flower arrangements, which she shared with friends.

Olaf completed a correspondence course in carpentry and was well known throughout the valley for his fine work. He worked on the Cutler Dam and Boulder Dam, as well as on many homes and businesses. He will be remembered for his lovely yard and flower garden.

He and Edeline were parents of Uldene (Boyd Barnes) and Lillis (Robert Campbell).
