Funeral services were to be held at two o'clock this afternoon at the residence in Moulton for Thomas F. Almon, aged 58 years, one of North Alabama's most distinguished citizens, who died at Benevolent Hospital here at 6:25 o'clock Sunday morning as a result of injuries received in an automobile accident on the Moulton highway.
Interment will be made in the Almon Cemetery, Brown directing.
Mr. Almon was a nephew of the late Congressman Edward B. Almon and a brother of the late Solicitor David C. Almon. He is survived by his wife and the following children: Misher of Wheeler Dam, Linden of Tyler, Texas, Edward of Moulton, Allen of Tyler, Tom Jr, of Moulton, Collins of the University of Alabama, Dave of Moulton, Misses Mary Elizabeth and Alice of Moulton; a brother, Judge Charles P. Almon of Florence; three sisters, Miss Lula Almon of Florence, Miss Novie Almon of Florence and Mrs. Howard Glenn of Moulton; a cousin, George E. Almon, of Decatur.
Mr. Almon had served for a quarter of a century as chairman of the Lawrence County school board and at the time of his death also was a member of the board of aldermen of Moulton. He was a member of one of the oldest families in Lawrence County and his death occasioned universal sorrow.
