BURTON, CHRISTINE OSWALT, age 82, of Hueytown, passed away January 26, 2009. Daughter of Ottie Asberry and Julie Oswalt, Mrs. Burton was born and raised in Brookwood. One of eight children, her only surviving siblings are her sisters, known within the family as Aunt Loraine and Aunt Wedell. A fine, churchgoing woman, she raised four children and was proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Burton loved church and Sunday school and had greatly missed being at church after her health began to fail. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, January 30, 2009 at Brown Service West Chapel with interment following at Highland Memorial Gardens. She was preceded in death by five siblings and granddaughter, Allison Christine Burton. She is survived by her: husband of 62 years, William Virgil Burton; children, Peggy Ann Knight (Johnnie), William Tommy Burton (Sharon), Jackie Glenn Burton and Donald Curtis Burton (Aleesa); seven grandchildren, Johnathan Dwayne Knight, Christopher Lane Knight (Christie), Stephen Lee Burton (Hayley), Matthew Burton, Tammy Burton, David Burton (Jolene) and Joshua Curtis Burton; six great-grandchildren, Kayla Marie Knight, Kendell Page Knight, Aiden Blane Knight, Haylee Jade Knight, Sophia Grace Burton and Natalie Burton (and great-grandchild number seven, Reagan Christine Burton, due January 30, 2009). When Tommy and Sharon were married, that gave us an extended family which included Jonathan, Jerry, and Jill with their spouses and children. "God only picks the most beautiful flowers for His gardens." Thank you Lord for sending her to us.
