Per Don Ring, birth records for three of her children list her maiden name as Teachum, while a fourth lists her as Teacham as found in the District of Columbia, Select Births and Christenings, 1830-1955. However, the death records for her parents list the surname as Teachem.

Funeral from the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Charles B. Spates, Third Street Northwest on Saturday, April 22 at 2PM. Interment (private) at Oak Hill Cemetery.
