Lilly C. Coyer, daughter of Charles and Lucy (Sturgis) Ferguson, was born on June 29, 1911 at Slayton, Minnesota. Lily married Aaron on February 26, 1931 at Spirit Lake, Iowa. Following their marriage the couple farmed in Round Lake area. In 1941 they moved to a farm in Minnesota Township, Jackson County, Minnesota. In 1969 they moved to Lakefield. Mr. Coyer passed away on January 23, 1978. Lily then moved to Brewster and had resided there since.
Lily was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Brewster. In 1954 she was baptized and later confirmed in the Baptist faith at the Loon Lake Baptist Church. Lily was a volunteer at the Brewster Senior Citizen Center and played in the Humdinger Band.
Lily passed away on Friday morning April 24, 1992 at the Lakefield Hospital. She was 80 years old.
Lily is survived by three sons, Alfred and his wife Dorothy Coyer of Granada, Alvin of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Allen of Arlington, Washington; five daughters, Mavis and her husband Robert Christoffer of Spirit Lake, Iowa, Ardis and her husband Allen Schultz of rural Heron Lake, Marlis and her husband Kenneth Fisher of Spirit Lake, Wilma and her husband Larry Small of Rembrandt, Iowa and Sharon and her husband Doug Rutler of Spencer, Iowa; thirty one grandchildren, thirty six great grandchildren and two brothers William and his wife Velma Ferguson of Heron Lake and George Ferguson of Worthington.
Lily was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one sister, four brothers, two grandchildren and one great grandchild.
