She was the daughter of Colonel Uriah Forrest.
On November 11, 1817 as Maria Forrest, she married John Tayloe IV on November 13, 1817 at the Forrest family estate, Rosedale at the District of Columbia.
They were the parents of two sons, John Tayloe V (1818-1873) and George Plater Forrest Tayloe who died in infancy.
On June 9, 1834 as Maria Tayloe, she married Benjamin S. Bohrer at the District of Columbia.
Age 71 years. Buried November 22, 1870.
