FUNERAL HELD FOR MRS. CARRIE B. PATTERSON
Villisca Resident, 73, Died of Heart Attack
Villisca, June 4, 1940, Services for Mrs. William Patterson, 73, were held Tuesday at the Wolf Funeral Home at 2:30 and burial was made in the Villisca Cemetery. Mrs. Patterson died at her home Saturday night of a heart attack.
She leaves her husband and two sons. Byron and Frank, and one daughter, Mrs. Ada Howard, all of Villisca, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Villisca, June 4, 1940, Services for Mrs. William Patterson, 73, were held Tuesday at the Wolf Funeral Home at 2:30 and burial was made in the Villisca Cemetery. Mrs. Patterson died at her home Saturday night of a heart attack.
She leaves her husband and two sons. Bryon and Frank, and one daughter, Mrs. Ada Howard, all of Villisca, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

MRS. PATTERSON, 72, DIES AT HOME HERE; WAS AN EARLY SETTLER
Funeral services were held from Wolfe's funeral home Tuesday afternoon for Mrs. William R. Patterson, 72, who died Saturday at her home in Villisca, Iowa. Burial was made in the Villisca cemetery.
The Rev. E. M. Buehler was in charge of the final rites. Pallbearers were William Shaver, George Higgins, Elmer Newberg, Elick Newberg, Glen Garey, and Ray Garey. Music was furnished by Mrs. Don G. Hainey.
Obituary:
Carrie Bell Diamond, daughter of Martha J. and Joshua D. Diamond, was born in Boone County, Illinois, on January 8, 1868. In 1874, at the age of 6 years, she came with her parents in a covered wagon to settle in Montgomery County, Iowa, where she spent the rest of her life. She united with the Methodist Episcopal Church when she was a young woman.
She was united in marriage to William Reid Patterson on February 18, 1885, and to this union five children were born, two of whom died in infancy. Her father and mother and three bothers also preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband, two sons, Byron J. Patterson and Francis C. Patterson, and a daughter, Mrs. Ada J. Howard, all of Villisca, Iowa; 15 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Besides a sister, Mrs. Ada Armstrong of Chicago, Illinois.
