Rev Herbert Francis Quimby of Derry, NH, a retired Methodist minister, died at a Jamaica Plain, MA rest home on December 28, 1952 after a long illness. He was born in Unity, NH on December 24, 1863; the son of Francis and Lydia (Johnson) Quimby.

He served more than fifteen churches in New Hampshire and Massachusetts. He had served pastorates in Lawrence and Haverhill, MA and Peterboro, Salem, Milford, Amherst, Groveton, Moultonboro, Canaan, Hampton, Smithtown, Exeter, Bristol, Derry, and Rochester, NH. He retired from the Salisbury Methodist Church in 1935 where he had been a minister for seven years. He had lived in Derry, NH until he became ill.

He was a graduate of the University of Vermont and the Boston Theological Seminary.

He married Eva Hodgman on June 1, 1893 in Salem, NH who preceded him in death.

He married Jane Elliott on June 10, 1896 in Reed's Ferry, NH.

He is survived by his wife, daughter Bernice [died 1991 in MA] of Jamaica Plain and son Elliott of East Lynn.

Burial is in Mtn View cemetery in Claremont, NH.
