Lester Carroll Hale died at Integrated Health Services of New Hampshire in Claremont, NH on July 18, 2000. He was born on May 29, 1918 in Claremont; the son of Arthur and Gertrude (Blood) Hale.

He was a native and lifelong resident of Claremont. He graduated from Stevens High School in 1937. He served in the U S Army from March 24, 1941 to October 30, 1945 during the Battle of the Bulge as a member of the 155th Field Artillery Battalion. He was a self employed plumber who was so dedicated to his customers he never fully retired. He was a member of the American Legion Post No 29 for more than fifty three years, a longtime member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows and the Claremont Congress of Senior Citizens, and a sixty year member of the First Baptist Church. He enjoyed music, playing accordion, watching boxing, time with family and friends, church suppers, his cats, and playing pool.

He was predeceased by his sister Irma Hale in 1927 and two brothers Arthur "Artie" T Hale Jr in 1935 and Ralph F Hale in 1971.

Surviving family includes two brothers Floyd R Hale of Lake Helen, FL and Howard H Hale of Claremont; seven nieces and nephews; twenty eight great nieces and nephews; and thirty one great great nieces and nephews.

Burial is in Mtn View Cemetery.
