Mabel Hadley died at the Sullivan County Nursing Home in Unity, NH on October 12, 1983. She was born on December 28, 1893 in Athol, MA; the daughter of Warren and Ella (White) Whittemore.

She had been a resident of Claremont, NH for the past sixty one years and a fifty year member of the Rebekah Lodge, Eastern Star and Grange. She was also a member of the Women of the Moose, the Legion Auxiliary, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, Legion of the Guardsman Auxiliary, the Women's Relief Corps, the Pythian Sisters and Pocahontas, and an honorary member of the World War Mothers.

She married Robert Hadley on March 5, 1920 in Boston, MA who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by daughter Viola.

Surviving are three daughters Priscilla H St Pierre of East Haven, CT, Ruth H Scanlon of Wethersfield, CT, and Roberta H Miller of Peru, NY; four grandsons; six granddaughters; seven great grandchildren; brother Lester Whittemore of New Port Richey, FL; and a half sister Rowena Daniels of Claremont.

Burial is in Mtn View Cemetery.
