Death in a terrible form resulted at 4:30 Monday afternoon, October 10, after little L.J. Abney, fifteen month old son of Mr. and Mrs. R.T. Abney, drank carbolic acid earlier in the afternoon.
The accident occurred as the Abney family was in the process of moving from Wellington to a farm located one mile south of Rolla. While they were unpacking some boxes and buckets, little L.J. came around the house with the carbolic acid bottle in his hand.
He was rushed to Wellington and given medical attention, and then returned to the

Funeral services were held Friday and interment was made in the Rolla cemetery by Ellis Funeral Home.
He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. R.T. Abney; one brother, Edward, 6 and a sister, Dorothy, age 4.
