Pvt. Chas. Lynch served with Co.D 1st Nevada Vol. Inf. During the Civil War of 1861-65.
He also served in putting down the Native up rising of 1864-65.And He was slightly wounded in the right leg for his troubles.
After the War he worked as a Miner until his health gave out in 1882 and then he started to collect a Gov't pension of $15 a month for his war service. He died on July 14th 1884 due to Miners complaint or stone dust chest and General disability. At 59 years of age. The Attached photo of Chas Lynch is Courtesy of the Wild West Museum of Virginia City NV (On C Street) Who were kind enough to let me copy it for Find A Grave, The photo of his grave and the cemetery were taken in Sept. 2001. The Copy of his Death Certificate is from the state archives.
