Thomas I. Mattingly, 88, formerly of 16th St., N.W., died Oct. 9 at Manor Care of Barberton. Born in McQuady, Ky., he lived in Barberton the past 62 years. He was employed at the Pittsburgh Plate Glass Co. for 34 years in the process dept., retiring 27 years ago, and was a member St. Augustine Catholic Church. Preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle, son, Louis of California, grandson, Jason Avant of Charleston, S. C., he is survived by sons, Charles of Commerce, Ga., Maurice of Visalia, Calif.; daughters, Mrs. Charles (Laura) Straub of Cincinnati, Mrs. Cecil (Connie) Young of Clinton, Mrs. Gene (Norma) Burnham of Visalia, Calif., Mrs. Harold (Mary) Midkiff of Ispheming, Mich., Mrs. Donald (Barbara) Tote of Hayward, Calif., and Mrs. Allen (Carol) Shuler of Orlando, Fla.; 41 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brother, Charles of Barberton; sister, Mrs. Julia Centea of Akron. Funeral services will be Friday, 11 a.m., from the Hahn Funeral Home. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to service time Friday.
