Rev. Charles Bruner was the son of Revolutionary War Patriot, Adam Bruner. In 1850 "C. Bruner" was listed in "Indiana Conference Methodist Preachers-1850" as a preacher from the Anderson Mission in the Paoli, Indiana, district. Charles and three of his brothers were Methodist Episcopal preachers; Charles was a circuit rider in southern Indiana.
