Thomas Doyle, 65, Brother of Local Resident, Dies
Thomas Lloyd Doyle, 65, a lifelong Buckley resident, died Sat. at 12:15 p.m. at the Veterans Administration hospital at Dwight where he had been a patient two weeks.
Born 8/26/1890 at Buckley, he was a son of Patrick & Margaret Shannon Doyle & was one of 10 children. He was a lifelong member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church of Loda & was a World War I veteran.
Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Margaret Shannon Doyle of Buckley, who will be 99 years old in June, 2 brothers, Lee Doyle of Denice, Calif., & Wesley Doyle of Clifton; 2 sisters, Mrs. Mae Gillespie of Paxton & Mrs. Edith Phillips of Buckley; and several nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Effie Johnson, 1/26/1916; a daughter Arlene Naomi, at the age of 2 months; his father in 1937, a brother, Edward & 3 other brothers in infancy.
Funeral services were conducted Tues. at 10 a.m. in the St. Joseph Catholic Church at Loda with the Rev. Paul Benson officiating. Interment was in Pine Ridge Cemetery in Loda.

Thomas Lloyd Doyle died at the Veterans hospital, Dwight, Il., Sat. 3/31 at 12:15 p.m. He had been a patient there for 2 months. He was 65.
Born 8/26/1890 at Buckley he was the son of Patrick & Margaret (Shannon) Doyle. His wife, the former Effie Johnson, died 1/26/1916; a daughter Arline Naomi, 4 brothers and one sister, Mrs. Kathryn Marr, also preceded him in death.
He is survived by his aged mother, Mrs. Margaret Doyle, 98, 2 sisters, Mrs. Mae Gillespie, Paxton, Mrs. Edith Phillips of Buckley; 2 brothers, Lee of Venice, Calif. & Wesley of Clifton; and a number of nieces & nephews. Victor Doyle, a nephew was with him at the hospital the last days of his illness.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church at Loda where services were held Tuesday at 10 a.m. Rev. Fr. Paul Benson officiated. Burial was in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Loda.
