Carolyn D. (Elmes) Misner, 85, of 8738 Capitol Hill Road, Waynesboro, died at 6:22 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 15, 2007, in Waynesboro Hospital.

She was the daughter of the late Harry P. and Dorothy (Smith) Elmes and a lifelong resident of the Waynesboro area.

She and her husband, Chauncey R. "Jim" Misner, were married in March 1941. They had lived at their present residence since their marriage. Mr. Misner died Sept. 3, 1989.

Prior to retiring in 1978, Mrs. Misner was a press operator at Regency Thermographers, Waynesboro, for more than 20 years.

She was a member of Waynesboro Church of the Brethren.

Mrs. Misner also was a member of the Tomstown Saddle Club.

She enjoyed horses and caring for cats.

She is survived by one sister, Velma Lou Halsey of North Carolina, and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Annamae Bricker, and two brothers, Harry P. "Bud" Elmes and Thomas W. Elmes.

Burial will be Tuesday in Antietam Cemetery, Waynesboro.
