ELIZA JANE McKOWN DIED SUNDAY AT HOME OF DAUGHTER HERE (Sullivan) Mrs. Eliza Jane McKown, widow of Samuel McKown, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Flora Jeffers in this city Saturday morning. She had observed her 85th birthday anniversary last May 11. Her maiden's name was Eliza Jane PASCO and she was born May 11, 1844. She was twice married. Her first husband was Ananias (sic) Reedy to whom she was united 7 December 1865. He died 23 December 1897. To this union nine children were born, all of whom survive. They are Sam Reedy, Jesse A. Reedy, Bert Reedy, Ed Reedy and Mrs. Flora Jeffers, of Sullivan; Mrs. Hulda Earp of Albany Oregon; Mrs Emma Pritz of Sibley, Ill., Amos Reedy of Findlay and W.H. Reedy of Villa Grove. She also leaves her sister Mrs. Alice Lape of Laredo, MO, and a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her second marriage was on 15 Jan 1902 to Samuel McKown of Kirksville. He preceded her in death on March 18th of the present year. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Kirksville church in charge of Rev. C.E. Barnett of the local Christian Church. Interment was in Camfield Cemetery. Obituary furnished by Janet Donner
