World War II Veteran Dies At Des Moines Hospital
Paul E. Parker of near Peru, a resident of Madison county most of his life, died Tuesday, Nov. 7 at a Des Moines hospital. He was 59 years of age.
Mr. Parker was a son of Charles A. and Clara Bray Parker. He was born in Madison county April 2, 1908. He was a veteran of World War II, and a member of Green-Rogers post of the American Legion at Winterset.
He survived by his mother, Mrs. Clara Parker of Winterset; a sister, Mrs. Wilma McDonald of Winterset; and five brothers, John Parker of Des Moines, Glenn, William and Raymond Parker of Winterset, and Robert Parker of Spring Hill.
Funeral services were held Thursday from the Collins Funeral home in Winterset conducted by the Rev. Charles Updike, pastor of the Winterset Foursquare church. Burial was made in the North McDonald cemetery, with military honors by Green-Rogers post of the American Legion.
