He grew up and attended school. Following high school graduation he entered college at Ohio Northern University, where he received a Bachelors Degree.
During World War II, John entered the U. S. Army and served in the 232nd Infantry Regiment. He was in the battles of the Rhineland and Central Europe and was awarded the American Theater Ribbon, the European African Mediterranean Theater Ribbon with 2 Bronze Stars, the Good Conduct Medal and the Victory Medal, WW II.
He was preceded in death by his wife Marilyn.
Services with Military Honors will be at Fort Gibson National Cemetery, arrangements by Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home and Crematory, Ardmore, OK.
