Nicholas James Baber, 29, passed away Tuesday, March 23, 2010. He was born Dec. 6, 1980, in Peru, to Sandra K. Baber and James L. Baber.

Nick graduated from Peru High School in 2000 and was employed at Gallahan Truck Stop. He had attended both Chapel Hill and Zion Chapel churches. He was fondly known for many years as "Dozer" the Clown with the Peru Amateur Circus. Nick also played drums and sang with the Miami Indian Nation. He loved family and considered everyone he met a friend.

He is survived by his mother, Sandra K. Baber; father and stepmother, James L. and Penny Baber; stepbrothers, Steve (Ronda) Raymer and Michael (Vicky) Raymer; and numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, and countless friends.

He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents William and Alice Baber and maternal grandparents Charles and LaVerne Walter.

Nick had several "other mothers" that his family owes a great deal of gratitude and who enriched his life: Sherry Byler, Laura McNeal, Bonnie Wolfe, Donna Figiel, Tami Gamble and Marsha Anders. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home to help offset funeral expenses. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home.
