NICHOLAS MARTIN & REBECCA SEXTON
Nicholas G. and Rebecca (Sexton] moved to Pleasant Run Township, Lawrence County, Indiana in the late 1830's from Grainger County, Tennessee, having four children at that time. In 1850, they, along with their Sexton and Arwine relatives were living in Brown County, Indiana. The Martins were back in Lawrence County, Indiana in 1860. They later had five more children born into their family. Three of their sons served in the Civil War. James Francis was killed in action at Kenesaw Mountain, Georgia, in June of 1864 at the age of 24. They lived and died in Indiana, and are buried in the Gilgal Cemetery in the Log Cabin area, of Lawrence County, Indiana.
