Alla Mae married Donald R. Beittel Feb 6, 1947. She met Donald in California during WWII. She and her husband had three children: David Roy Beittel, Don Ward Beittel, and Elizabeth Ann BEITTEL Wilhelm Shuler. As a child she was teased with "Alla Mae Ward is a Model Tee Ford." She went to California during the war to serve as a secretary at the Naval base where she met her future husband, Donald R. Beittel, who, at the time was engaged to Helen Aspinwall (as he told the story, it was Eleanor Birdseye of frozen food fame. The only similarity between the two was they both came from wealthy parents). Alla Mae, or Alice as she was later called, would not go home to meet Donald's parents or become engaged until Donald broke off his engagement.
Alla Mae legally changed her name to Alice M. from Alla Mae and was an avid golfer and gardener. Ten years after her husband passed away, she moved from the Cinnaminson, New Jersey home at 301 Arbor Rd to Moorestown, New Jersey at 29 Spruce Court. She loved that little house in Moorestown and died there in 2005.
