"Our Fearless Leader" Caleb A. Shreeve Jr. passed away March 22, 2010, at his Boise home with his beloved wife of 54 years by his side. He was born in Ogden, Utah, on September 28, 1927, the oldest of three children of Caleb and Leone Shreeve. He met and fell in love with Sally Anne Britton. They were married on July 12, 1955, in the Logan LDS Temple. Caleb kept a plaque that read, "The greatest thing a man can do for his children is to love their mother" - by this measure (and many others), our father was the greatest! Our Mom was the love of his life. He graduated from Utah State University and later earned his Master's Degree from the University of Oregon. Caleb served in the United States Army for over 20 years. He had a deep love for this Country. He retired as a Lt. Colonel from his military career in 1973. After retiring from the military, he chose to focus his new career on church and community services. He worked for LDS Social Services (now called LDS Family Services) and enjoyed many years as Director of the Boise agency. He was a compassionate man and a strong advocate for children. He served at Governor Kempthorne's request on the "Keep the Children Safe" committee and often opened his home to foster children and others in need. Caleb served his church in many capacities including bishop of the Meridian 7th Ward for over six years. His favorite calling was being a home teacher. Caleb treasured his wife and family. His home was filled with laughter and his heart was filled with love. He enjoyed sailing, taking his kids fishing, attending his children and grandchildren's events, date nights with his wife and proudly displaying the American flag. He was a man of unwavering integrity and character.

He is survived by his wife, Sally; his children, Deborah (Dale) Schuerman, Pamela Spencer, Tamara Shreeve, Gregory Shreeve, Teresa (Richard) Sargent, Brad (Natalie) Shreeve and Gary (Tonya) Shreeve; and fifteen grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by his sister, Geraldine Allen; and brother, Roger Shreeve.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 27, 2010 at the LDS Chapel located at 4921 N. Mitchell Rd., Boise. Bishop Dale Olsen will be conducting.
Friends may call to visit with the family from 9:00 until 9:45 a.m. at the church on Saturday prior to the services.
