Emmie Lorraine Gasper Allmon of Westminster Village, died at 1:35 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 26, 1989, at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center. She was 75.
Born April 23, 1913 at Chriesman, Texas, she was the daughter of Erich L. and Lorraine Elizabeth (Dulin) Gasper.
She grew up in Chriesman. Following graduation from Caldwell High School in 1930, she then attended San Angelo Junior College. She received her registered nurse's training from Scott and White Hospital in Temple, Texas, graduating in 1936.
For a brief time, she served as a U.S. Army Nurse at Fort Sill just prior to World War II.
On Aug. 10, 1940 she married Claud Edward "Rodie" Allmon at Lawton. The couple made their home in Altus where Mrs. Allmon worked as a registered nurse, retiring in 1975. Following Mr. Allmon's death in 1977, she moved to Arlington, Texas, living there until 1981 when she came to Ponca City to be near her daughter.
Mrs. Allmon was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Altus, and the Altus Garden Club. She enjoyed gardening, needlepoint, crossword puzzles and board games.
Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Joe (Lorraine) Provine, 1915 Meadowbrook, and Mrs. Claudine Kriss of Lakeside, Ohio; four sisters, Mrs. Laura Harbin of Eastland, Texas, Miss Clara Gasper and Mrs. Alice Jo McElroy, both of Arlington, Texas, and Mrs. Omega Neal of Chriesman, Texas; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the Chapel of the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Heslip, associate pastor, officiating. Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Altus City Cemetery with the Rev. Milton Redeker, associate pastor of the First Baptist Church in Altus, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, 825 Northeast Thirteenth, Oklahoma City, OK 73104.
The body will lie in state at the Trout Funeral Home until 8:30 a.m. Tuesday morning. The family will be at 1915 Meadowbrook.
