Catawba---Pearl C. (Pete) Arnold, 85, of 225 E. North st., Catawba, died in his home at 4 p.m. Sunday.
He was born in Hardin County, March 14, 1885, the son of Simeon and Jane Tavenor Arnold.
He lived most of his life in Catawba and was a self-employed interior and exterior decorator. He was also employed for 28 years by the Pleasant Township School as a bus driver and custodian.
Mr. Arnold was a member of the Catawba United Methodist Church, Mechanicsburg Lodge 113, F. and A. M. and the Scottish Rite, Valley of Columbus.
He is survived by his wife, the former Mary Jewett; a son, John, of Springfield; a daughter, Mrs. Cristina Standley, of Springfield; three grandsons and one granddaughter; two brothers, George, of Springfield and Leonard, of Chillicothe, and a sister, Mrs. Hazel Roller, of Springfield.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Skillman Funeral Home, Mechanicsburg. Masonic services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday afternoon and evening. Burial will be at Asbury Cemetery.
Pallbearers will include Robert Hunter, Emerson Vodermark, Homer T. Perry, Robert Coffey, Kenneth Arnold and Don Arnold. Honorary pallbearers will be Leonard Neer, Carleton Runyan, Howard Locke, Robert Farrish, Harry Genheimer and M. H. Francis.
