Simeon's father, Simeon King (1738-1815) had a relationship with Experience Richardson before he married Mary Carver and Experience was able to sue him for child support. (The proof is in the court records). Experience named her son Simeon King in "honor" of his father.
Simeon served in the Continental Army, December 1776 through May, 1782. This is documented by his Revolutionary War pension *W232 and "Massachusetts Soldiers and Sailors in the War of the Revolution", Vol 9, p. 272.
