PENDLETON - Betty Jean Fordice, 84, a life-long resident of Pendleton, died Friday, March 12, 2010. Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 27 at the Pendleton Baptist Church, 3202 S.W. Nye Ave., Pendleton.

Mrs. Fordice was born Dec. 6, 1925, the sixth of seven children of Walter Reimann and Olive Jones Reimann. She attended Pendleton High School and worked for a short time as a waitress at the Oregon Café before marrying Elmer Kenneth Fordice of Pendleton in 1946.

She was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker.

Survivors include sons Wayne Fordice of Portland, Clinton Fordice of Hermiston and Michael Fordice of Pendleton; sisters Alice Cardwell and Beulah Chaney and brother Walter "Bud" Reimann, all of Pendleton; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and sisters Elsie Guyll, Viola Gruver and June Reimann.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Pendleton Baptist Church, Sherwood Elementary School Parent/Teacher Association or to a charity of one's choice in care of Burns Mortuary of Pendleton, P.O. Box 489, Pendleton, OR 97801.
