Methyl Irene Grissom, 99, of Leighton, Ala., died March 21, 2010.
Visitation was Tuesday, March 23, at Colbert Memorial Chapel.
The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 24, at Zion Hill Baptist Church, with burial to follow at Old Bethel Cemetery. Officiating is Brother Thomas Thornton and Brother Bobby Amos. The body will lie in state 1-2 p.m. Memorials may be made to Gideon's, in memory of Methyl Grissom, in care of Zion Hill Baptist Church, 1703 Pleasant Dr., Muscle Shoals, AL 35661.
She was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church, active in all church activities, and a member of the Home Makers Extension Club, where she was involved in many community activities.
Mrs. Grissom was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Mattie Crosswhite Wood; husband, Oscar H. "Judge" Grissom; daughters, Jewell Dean Kerby, Clarice Melba Craig; grandsons, Dale Kerby, Jeffrey Craig; brothers, Clarence and Auston Wood; sister, Erlene Timbes; and great-great-granddaughter, Savanah Keenum.
Survivors include brother, Auburn (Lois) Wood, of Glendale, Ariz.; son-in-law, Howard Craig, of Leighton; grandchildren, Harlon Kerby, Juanita (Tim) Schultz, Gene (Felicia) Craig, Vicky (Tim) Jefferys, Deborah (Gary) McInnish; great-grandchildren, Michael, Farrell, Eric, Katie, Danny, Sabrina, Brandon, Kayla, Tyler, Leslie and Brittney; great-great-grandchildren, MaKayla, Alyssa, Caitlyn, McKenzie, Chloe, Colby, Kaden, Dillon, Autumn, Ian, Cole and Jerrod.
