James Fisher arrived in Italy, NY in 1820 and settled that year on the east part of lot 48, and lived there the remainder of his life. (History of Yates County, Cleveland, v. 1, p. 419).

Born circa 1792, possibly in Schoharie County, NY.

He had at least eight children with his wife Rachel Gillett.

2. Rachel, m. Moses Barker.

3. Jeremiah, F/A/G #76508697. Married Sally Cook.

4. Abigail, m. John McConnell.

5. Hannah, b. 1823 m. Moses Bardeen. May have later married Daniel Stevens of Wheeler, NY. She is believed to have still been alive in 1900.

6. James, died in 1853.

7. Hiram, b. 22 Jul 1830, noted as alive in History & Directory of Yates County NY (1873).

8. Phebe,

The cause of death for James is recorded as due to bilious colic and his birthplace is listed as New York on the same document.
