RANSDELL. Fred Ransdell, 65, of 415 Akers Rd., Visalia, CA,
formerly of Mercer County, died Tuesday, October 31, 2000 at
the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
Born December 9, 1934 in Mercer County, he was the son of
the late Huntley B. and Virginia Gritton Ransdell. He was the
retired owner of Classic Gift Packaging, Visalia, CA, the
National Wildlife Federation and the NRA. He was a member
of the Salvisa Baptist Church. Survivors include: three sons,
Steve (Nancy) Ransdell, Salvisa, Danny Ransdell,
Lawrenceburg and Mike (Lisa) Ransdell, Salvisa; one brother,
Everett Ransdell, Grand Junction, CO; one sister, Alma Baker,
Winchester; 10 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by
four brothers, Kelwin, Curtis, Allen and Kenneth Ransdell, and
a sister, Lucille Smith. Funeral services will be held at 11:00
a.m. Friday, November 3, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with
Rev. Jerry Perry officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill
Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Stephen, Timmy, Jason and
Curt Ransdell, Brian Murphy and Brian Sallee. Memorials are
suggested to the Mayo Christian Church Van Fund, 1950
Central Pike, Salvisa, KY 40372. Visitation will be from 5:00
to 9:00 p.m. Thursday and after 7:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral
chapel.
