Mr. Norris retired from the Zia Company in Los Alamos after 35 years of service, was a member of the Manhattan Project and a member of the Pipefitters Union #412 for almost 60 years.
He was preceded in death by his son, Ronnie Norris; parents, Fred and Alice Norris; several loving brothers and sisters; and one grandson.
Mr. Norris is survived by his wife of 76 years, Opal Norris, La Mesilla; children, Nelda Romero, La Mesilla; Don Norris, La Mesilla, Tom Norris, Albuquerque and Randy Norris, La Villita; brothers and sisters, Nadine Coburn, Texas; Eudene Bolsinger, Oklahoma; E.E. "Buddy" Norris, Texas and Billie Ruth, Oklahoma; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson and numerous other relatives and friends.
A funeral service was held March 13 in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial was held March 13 at the Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Santa Fe with the following serving as pallbearers: Scott Norris, Tracy Norris, Monica Rains, Valerie Laramore, Matthew Wade, Aaron Gonzales, Cindy Wade and Lisa Gonzales. Serving as honorary pallbearers were, Candice Espinoza and Devine Gonzales.
