Evelyn K. Layton, 54, of Koontz Road, Bedford, died unexpectedly, Wednesday, September 23, 2009, at Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh. She was born on December 12, 1954, in Roaring Spring, a daughter of the late Stanley Grabill Sr. and Martha (Mulhollen) Paulson.
She was first married to Danny Robert Calaman Sr., and he preceded her in death on May 8, 1984.
On September 4, 2007 she married Glenn Layton and he survives along with two daughters: Heather, wife of Michael Spiker of Hyndman; Rebecca A. Calaman of Bedford; and a son Danny Robert Calaman Jr., married to the former Tracy Brown of Bellwood. Also surviving are four grandchildren: Nycole, Destiny, Zoey and Hunter; three sisters: Janet Ickes of Imler; Charlotte, wife of Glenn Smith of Fishertown; and Shirley, wife of Elmer May of Buffalo Mills; many half brothers and sisters; and a special friend, Missy.
She worked at the Golden Eagle Inn for many years. She loved being with her grandchildren and will be sadly missed by her family that loved her.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 26, at 11 a.m. in the chapel at Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford, with Pastor Adam Everly officiating.
Burial at the Imler Valley Cemetery in Imler.
Friends will be received on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
