Beckner, Sister Elizabeth, born near Salem, Roanoke Co., Va., died at the home of her son, Henry Beckner, near Harris, Anderson Co., Kans., Feb. 21, 1909, aged 78 years, 6 months and 23 days. She was the daughter of Henry Brubaker, and was the last of a large family of children. Her husband, John C. Beckner, preceded her twenty years ago. She was a member of the Old Order Brethren for about sixty years and served with her husband in the deacon's office for many years. She was the mother of one son and one daughter, who survive. She was stricken with paralysis, after which she lived but a few days. She was anointed two days previous to her death. Services by the Brethren.
