AARON G. PEIFFER

Aaron Gilbert Peiffer, aged 75, 306 W. Eighth St. retired rural postman, died at 11:45 p.m. Saturday in the Waynesboro Hospital. He had been in failing health the last five years. His condition was critical since April when he was confined to his bed. He was admitted to the hospital shortly before his death.

He was born near Grindstone Hill, the son of George and Fianna (Wingert) Peiffer.

His early life was lived at Grindstone Hill and Chambersburg. He came to Waynesboro from Chambersburg in 1915 and was employed in the Waynesboro Industries. In 1918 he was employed as a rural mail carrier. He retired six years ago. He was married June 12, 1919, to Ruth M. Sprenkle.

Mr. Peiffer was a member of the EUB Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by 19 children: D. Lester. Chambersburg; Miss V. Ruth Peiffer, Harrisburg; J. Norman, Waynesboro; Mrs. Helen Minnich, Rouzerville; Harold R., Waynesboro; Mrs. Evelyn Shadle, Chambersburg; by his first marriage; Mrs. Lenora Shatzer, Chambersburg; Charles A., Kenneth L., Mrs. Mary Jane Hoffman, Lowell E., Gerald E., Frederick D., all of Waynesboro; Arthur G. Hagerstown; Mrs. Kathryn O'Donnell. Marian, VA; Mrs. Margaret Wagaman, Waynesboro R.D.4; Mrs. Shirley Spealman, and Mrs. Saundra Huber, both of Chambersburg; Miss Trudy J. at home; 35 grandchildren; seven great-grand-children; one brother, Elmer E. Peiffer, Waynesboro.

The funeral will be held at 10:30 am, Wednesday, at the Grove Funeral Home conducted by Dr. Paul Shettel. Burial will be made in Green Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 until 9 pm Tuesday.
