Sula Bell Elmore Jackson was the daughter of William Lunsford Elmore (1887-1934) & Hettie Lee Hobbs Elmore (1892-1933), the sixth child in a family of ten children. Born in Samson, Alabama, Geneva County. Her brothers & Sisters: Henry Elmore (1911-1986; Calvin C. Elmore (1914-1966); Maxvern Elmore (1916-1984); Mathie Lee Elmore (1918-1974); Ethel Dell Elmore (1919); Sula Bell Elmore (1921-1977); Rosie Lee Elmore (1924-1963); William Robert Elmore (1926-1939); Doris Nell Elmore (1928-2014); Dottie Mae Elmore (1931).
Sula B. Elmore married Clarence Jackson, Sr. (1918-1971) in Geneva County, Alabama in 1936. She was the mother of one son and two daughters: Geraldine Jackson (1937-1992); Clarence (Tommy) Jackson, Jr. (1939-1990) & Mablene Jackson (1942-2005).
