Professional baseball player 1901-1903. Pitcher for the Chicago White Stockings and the Detroit Tigers.

"John Skopec is without a doubt the best pitcher in the Southern League and would be a star in the big Leagues if he were only ambitious and did more practicing. He has a great abundance of speed and an endless assortment of slants and curves, but he is wild. He should be worked more." - from the Little Rock correspondent to Sporting Life, June 28, 1902

No Marker - He was located in a rental/term grave. Block 9 Lot-255. Term graves were "rented" by families who couldn't afford to purchase a grave. They rented them for 25 years. If after the term of 25 years the family made no arrangements to purchase a grave burials were made on top. There would be no markers because if the family could not afford a grave they couldn't afford a headstone. source: Bohemian National Cemetery office - September 23, 2020.
