Tobias Peterson Sr. married Ann Derrickson in 1805. They were both born in Delaware and upon marriage moved to Maryland and bought a farm near Scott's Milla, and reared a large family. They were the parents of Anne Brown, Ruth Ford, George H., Lydia McClay, Thomas, Tobias Peterson Jr, Peter, Margaret Mary McKenney (McKenny), John and Sarah Sentman.

Served in War of 1812.

Died near Parkes Rolling Mill.
